R.I. teacher reaches out to African school

PROVIDENCE -- A Providence teacher is helping a struggling school in Ghana.

Education is out of reach for most in the poor, but developing West African country.

Shawn Rubin produced a documentary highlighting a small secretarial school in the country.

Students learn to speak English, type and write shorthand. The school operates in the back of a church and is open to anyone.

Rubin has spent the past year raising money and collecting office supplies for the school.
