June 13 -- Elementary school students in Westerly celebrated Flag Day.WESTERLY, R.I. -- Elementary school students in Westerly celebrated Flag Day Friday.
The students from Bradford Elementary read their essays on patriotism during the ceremony.
Several students also received Citizenship Awards. Flag Day is actually Saturday, June 14th. Flag Day celebrates the adoption of the Stars and Stripes as the U.S. flag in 1777.
