WARWICK, R.I.—Budding Rhode Island artists are competing to have their work displayed in Washington.

Rep. Jim Langevin, a Rhode Island Democrat, is hosting the ninth annual Artistic Discovery Competition at Save the Bay in Providence on Sunday.

The event is part of the national Congressional High School Art Competition.

The winning piece from Langevin’s district, and from districts around the country, will be displayed in the Cannon Tunnel in Washington. That’s a pedestrian walkway leading to the U.S. Capitol.

There are 14 Rhode Island entries this year, from artists in Warwick, Cranston, Coventry, Scituate and Block Island.
