FALL RIVER, Mass.—A man died from injuries he suffered Wednesday on the production floor at Blount Fine Foods’ plant in Fall River.
The employee was seriously injured while working on the soup production floor at about 7:45 a.m. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration said a preliminary investigation indicated some object or piece of equipment fell on the man.
The victim was initially taken to Charlton Memorial Hospital and then transfered to a trauma unit at Rhode Island Hospital. His name was not released.
The president of Blount Foods said production has been halted while the death is investigated.
