HARTFORD, Conn.—A Connecticut woman suspected in a series of bank robberies in southern New England last week has been arrested.

State police on Monday charged 34-year-old Heather Brown, of Norwich, with the robbery on Saturday of a CBT branch in Windsor.

She is a suspect in six robberies last week, one each day, beginning Sept. 21 in Montville. Police also want to question her about robberies in Westerly, R.I., Middletown, West Springfield, Mass., and East Hartford.

In each case, a woman told the teller she had a bomb, and left with cash.

No explosives have been found and no injuries reported.

Brown is on probation after serving a 30-month sentence for a 2006 bank robbery in Groton.

hopefully she really isn’t armed because i’m sure she knows that she’s on the radar and that it’s only a matter of time before she’s caught. i would hate to see anyone get hurt, just give her the money, and she will get hers

talk about a failed penal system…just invite the ‘bad guys’ to continue in their lives of crime. forget the ‘three strikes and your out’ policy. how about one time and you face some real consequences, not simply a ‘slap on the wrist’...

This time, when she is caught (and she will be) they should invoke habitual offender laws and toss her in the slammer for life.

Even if her picture is on the front door of every bank in new england she is still going to rob that bank.  She is telling people she is armed..so I don’t think it is a matter of they don’t know who she is but a matter of saftey for the employees and customers of the bank to let her go about her business…I know I wouldn’t want to be in a bank when some lady pulled out a gun because a teller said “hey I know that lady hold on let me call the police”  no thank you

What gets me is that they know who she is and they have her photo and yet she continues to hit banks.  Her picture should be posted on the front door of every bank in NE.

I said “someone dropped the ball on this one” Not doc. I am sure the list of actual people would be great. The rehabilitation part would be the great job!

JoePJack1 How do you figure Conn DOC dropped the ball?  Considering DOC does not give out the sentences the Judges do

rob a bank in 06 and be out of jail in 09 to do it again. Someone dropped the ball on this one. And yes Rehabilitation is a myth. Seems as if it may have intensified the disorder. Great job Conn. DOC.
