BURRILLVILLE, R.I.—Police said the former clerk and treasurer of Burrillville’s endowment has been indicted on charges that she embezzled more than $75,000.
Police said 52-year-old Deborah A. Carr was clerk and treasurer of the Board of Administration, which manages the endowment set up by the town’s benefactor, industrialist Austin Levy.
She pleaded not guilty and was released on personal recognizance at her arraignment Wednesday on a felony embezzlement charge in Providence Superior Court.
Authorities allege she stole more than $75,000 by converting checks for her own use and for paying personal debts.
Carr served from 1995 until January 2008, when she was fired.

Yeah Yeah…. and lets pull her fingernails off too.
Mr & Mrs Levy must be rolling in their grave REGARDING HER ACTIONS
If she is found guilty, I seriously hope all of her assets are sold off to repay our town and to also pay for the expenses that come with her arrest, trial, and hopefully her jail cell.
