WEST WARWICK, R.I. - A Wild Money ticket worth nearly $56,000 remains unclaimed.

The ticket was purchased on March 4, 2008 at the Cumberland Farms on Legier Avenue in West Warwick.

The winner has less than a week to claim the prize.

“(I’m) a little surprised. Wild Money usually doesn’t have that many unclaimed prizes. It’s more $10,000 unclaimed prizes that we see,“ said Melissa Ferriola of the Rhode Island Lottery.

Ferriola said there are several ways to check and see if you’re a winner.

“The winning numbers are on our Web site for the past year of drawings,“ she said. “(You can also) take (the ticket) to a retailer to check. If they don’t have a computer call us to get winning numbers.“

If the winner doesn’t come forward, Ferriola said the money goes into the state’s general fund.

The winning numbers were: 2-4-5-7-31 with the Extra Ball being 8.
