PROVIDENCE—The Twin River slot parlor and a greyhound owners’ association have reached a preliminary agreement in their dispute over dog racing at the Lincoln facility.
Monday’s federal court filing did not spell out terms.
UTGR Inc., the company that operates Twin River, filed for bankruptcy protection in June, citing among other issues a contract with the Rhode Island Greyhound Owners Association that UTGR said cost too much money.
UTGR has asked a federal bankruptcy judge to void the current contract.
Dog racing was suspended Aug. 8.
A Twin River spokeswoman told The Providence Journal that the agreement could be made public as soon as next week.
A spokeswoman for the dog owners refused comment.

As long as all the feral and the many recently shelter-placed cats would have a better life, Twin River should try cat racing. Just need to keep one dog.
Wow almighty Smitty, you are smart, you know all.
I am so proud to be in the same universe as you!
As long as both the owners of the business and the racing owners association are OK with it, then who cares what the terms are?
Of course, the state won’t lose out—not one penny of their share will go towards the dog owners or the facility owners.
