LEDYARD, Conn.—The chairman of Mashantucket Pequots is now on administrative leave.
The tribe made the move because of comments the chairman made about debt restructuring at Foxwoods.
Michael Thomas reportedly sent an email claiming tribe members would be paid before banks or bondholders during restructuring.
While the tribe confirmed the restructuring, it has backed away from Thomas’ comments about the way the payments will be made.
