Trade in Pell Bridge tokens until Dec. 31

The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority will no longer redeem Newport Pell bridge tokens as of Dec. 31.
Tokens began to be phased out with E-ZPass in December 2008.
The authority will pay 83 cents for every token handed in by 5 p.m. on Dec. 31.
Token holders can also choose to have credits applied to their E-ZPass accounts at the slightly higher rate of 91 cents a token.
