LINCOLN, R.I.—Twin River files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. But Instead of closing, the Lincoln slot parlor will stay open 24/7.

The bankers and creditors will assume $290 million dollars in debt in exchange for control of the company. The Rhode Island Lottery, which runs the machines, says it has the power to approve around-the-clock action.

The governor says he is okay with that part of the deal, and supports getting rid of the dog racing.

Though as NBC 10’s Brian Crandall reports, there is concern in the town about those extended hours.
