A fire in Providence heavily damages a building that housed several apartments and a business.

PROVIDENCE—A wood frame multi-family house in Providence sustained heavy damage from an early-morning fire on Wednesday.
Fire crews said the fire started at about 5:30 a.m.
Three families in the apartments above Union Avenue were evacuated from the building. One person was taken to the hospital and treated for smoke inhalation.
One firefighter suffered minor injuries to his arm.
The three-story house also included a liquor store, California Liquors, on the first floor.
The fire remains under investigation.
