A Fairhaven teenager charged with killing his father is due back in court Monday.
Kalibe Correia is accused of fatally stabbing his father in late August. Police said he acted in self defense and pleaded not guilty to the murder charge.
The incident allegedly started over money.
The victim was no stranger to police. Fairhaven officers arrested the father at least six times on charges of domestic assault and violating restraining orders.

why was that guy (so called father) even allowed to be near him??? Poor kid. With a record like that i don’t get it.
I agree Irreversible_Damage, let’s hope he gets the help he needs, also.
Wow the kid is so young I hope he has medical insurance or a lot of money wich I don’t think he has, he is going to need a lot of attention and councelling to get through this.
Without the proper care he could be like his father as he grows and this cycle needs to be stopped here and now, look at his eyes he looks like a beagle on a rabit hunt ready to pounce.
God bless him
God bless America and help this kid
Sounds like the kid was backed against the wall with an abusive father…...the father should have been locked up a long time ago & spared this family from this tragedy! Very sad case.
is there any reason why this young man is in jail? come on people… his father go what was comming to him
This is a sad sad story. I hope this kid gets the freedom he deserves.
I’m reading above That…. let me paste it
Police said he acted in self defense and pleaded not guilty to the murder charge.
Are the Police acknowledging that he acted in self defence. What is he doing in Jail?
This Father sounds like a monster. And… I’m no bleeding heart…
What if you were a prisoner.A teenager can’t think past that. Oh… you can see all the happy faces out there in the world and on TV. You could even have friends that had normal lives. You life however is FEAR… just FEAR. Comming home is a reocurring sentence day after day. No happiness no future.
This is how a kid can think. I see his face and it’s killing me!
it’s a terrible thing, however, having lived in a household where there was violence and cruelty that children suffered at the hands of their father, i can see how this type of incident can occur. if my sons had been adults during the time that this was happening in their lives, well….let’s simply acknowledge that this may have happened to one of them.
