Suspect in Yankees-Sox fight: Remarks were coerced
Published: October 13, 2009
NASHUA, N.H.—A New Hampshire woman charged with second-degree murder in a fatal crash that followed an argument over the Yankees and Red Sox says her statements to police were coerced and can’t be used as evidence.
Ivonne Hernandez, 44, of Nashua was arrested in the May 2008 confrontation that killed 29-year-old Matthew Beaudoin. She could face life in prison if convicted.
The Telegraph reports Hernandez argues a detective lied to her, implying that Beaudoin was still alive, and told her what to say about the crash.
The detective testified that Hernandez said she gunned the engine and drove toward a group of people who were hitting her car and jumping on it.
Hernandez had a Yankees sticker on her windshield. New Hampshire is Red Sox country.
A hearing is scheduled for Nov. 9.

That is a good outlook to have, and a good example for a lot of parents to follow when little Johnny or Mary plays for some team.
this is ridiculous people getting killed for a sports team.its not that serious .our team wins (red sox) our team loses get over it. its a sport.the players that lose go home pack there bags and go to florida or hawaii for the off season or a needed vacation . they dont really give a crap after they lose or dwell on it like the fans do so why should we . we all need to stop taking these sports so seriously and not hurt anyone.
I do want to say that last remark was of course tongue-in-cheek. It is very serious when one human being kills another one, whether accidentally or on purpose. Also around here we take Red Sox-Yankee rivalries seriously. I just wanted to send a little brevity everyone’s way. I’m sorry for being so callous.
Where does it say that SHE was Hispanic? That could very well be her married name, and her husband could be a 7th or 8th generation Hispanic, dating back to the 1800’s.
That being said, there are way more important things in this country to worry about than the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry, like Jon and Kate Gosselin.
Okay, whateva, Racist. Doesn’t bother me any. Thanks for being so honest about your bigotry… no reason to waste any more of my time.
Enjoy your life… and make sure that ‘free speech’ rope doesn’t get so long that it chokes you. We wouldn’t want that…
Yes you are right and I see a Hispanic woman who drove her car into a group of people who were not Hispanic. She should be brought up on charges for a hate crime.

Racist hate crimes are illegal in the United States also. Think about that.
I have never denied that fact…and in the United States I have the right to free speech even if it offends you
So get used to it Max and have a lovely day trying to stop your bleeding liberal heart.
>>she gunned the engine and drove toward a group of people who were hitting her car and jumping on it.<<
Hmm… okay, racist, so, is it possible that she was afraid for her own life?? If your surrounded by a bunch of rabid fans who are hitting your car, and jumping on it, presumably because your the fan of their arch rival… what would you do? I know I would at least be tempted to step on the gas, and drive away from the scene as fast as possible…
That being said, I wasn’t at the scene, so I don’t know what actually happened.

Hernandez Hmmmm see what happens when you let these people run ramped in our country. Yankees vs. Red Sox definitely worth killing someone over…friggin loser.
