Summer weather? More bathrooms open, says RI
Published: August 4, 2009
PROVIDENCE—Now that more summery temperatures are driving up demand, Rhode Island is opening some beach bathrooms that had remained closed earlier this season.
The Department of Environmental Management said Tuesday that workers plan to reopen state-owned bathrooms across from the Block Island ferry pier in Narrangansett.
Two seasonal staff members who had been assigned to weekday mowing and litter pickup will start working at the facility this weekend.
The bathrooms will be open from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
Officials also answered complaints about locked composting bathrooms at the Charlestown Breachway Beach, saying some of the toilets were closed to ensure even distribution of use.

All I got to say is what do they mean by even distribution of use
This state is such a joke. They really know how to drive away tourism. I am embarassed to say I live here. To not have bathrooms available to the public whom are spending thousands of dollars while here on vacation is just sickening. Nevermind the increase of the tolls coming up. But they will send out 10-12 state worker to plant flowers on the rt.1 highway when we are broke ! ! ! In my life I have never seen a bigger bunch of moronic state officials EVER. Conn. has had $$$ issues also, but if you go to any park, fishing/hunting area, picnic area they all have 1-3 port-a-potties at each one. Its just respectful to the public. I cant wait to get enough money together to move from this mess of a state. We have to stop giving out free money all the time to deadbeats in RI then it will turn around.
Problem solved. If your in Charleston you can now drive to Narragansett to go to the bathroom.
