PROVIDENCE - Students at several Rhode Island colleges and universities are heading back to school this week, with at least one celebrity freshman expected on campus.
The University of Rhode Island is welcoming new and returning students this weekend. And as NBC 10’s Barbara Morse Silva reports, despite the economy, enrollment at URI is up this year. Officials say enrollment at URI is up nearly 20 percent over last year.
In addition to URI, classes also start this week at Brown University, Salve Regina University in Newport and Bryant University in Smithfield
Classes already started at Rhode Island College and Roger Williams University last week.
Classes start Wednesday at Brown University, where actress Emma Watson of the “Harry Potter” film series has said she’s attending.
