A single-engine plane that dropped off radar in Connecticut on Friday landed safely in Ocean City, N.J, its intended destination.

The plane landed on its belly. The pilot said he had electrical problems with the landing gear.

No injuries were reported.

The Federal Aviation Administration said air traffic controllers in Providence lost radio and radar contact with the plane at about 11:30 a.m. when it was near the Groton-New London Airport, prompting a brief search by the Coast Guard and the Connecticut State Police.

The FAA said the electrical problems may have contributed to the plane dropping off of radar screens.

The flight originated in Plymouth, Mass.  The plane is registered to a Pennsylvania man.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
