MASHANTUCKET, Conn. - Slot machine revenue from Connecticut’s two casinos continues to drop, and officials say September may end up being the gaming industry’s worst month in recent history.

Authorities at Foxwoods Resort Casino and the Mohegan Sun casino say they think people are being more cautious than ever with their disposable income.

Mohegan Sun’s president says its slot revenue dropped 13 percent between September 2007 and September 2008. At Foxwoods, it was down 16 percent.

Mohegan Sun’s slot profits in September were slightly more than $67 million, and the Foxwoods profit was $56.5 million.

The Mohegan Sun is located in Uncasville, and is owned by the Mohegan tribe. Foxwoods, based in Mashantucket, is owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation.
