RI police investigate 45K scam at slot parlor

LINCOLN, R.I.—State police in Rhode Island are investigating what they call a “large scale theft” at the Twin River slot parlor.
They say the scam netted at least $45,000.
No arrests have been made, but a lottery official tells The Providence Journal that police are eyeing a former “high level director” and an accomplice.
Officials say the theft involved free slot play given away in a rewards program for frequent players.
They say the ex-employee created up to 536 bogus free play accounts, all in different names. Each account was used by the former employee’s accomplice.
The duo spent $134,000 in reward points for free play, winning at least $45,000.
The incident appears unrelated to the money problems at Twin River, which applied for bankruptcy protection in June.

Not a bad deal when the 134k in reward points was for free….a good deal UNTIL they got caught. They will definitley get that vacation…WITHOUT the 45k to spend. Fire their financial adviser!
It is funny that this story reflects the fact that you cannot win at Twin Rivers. Spend 134,000 win 45,000…too funny
