A man accused of posing as a cash register repairman and stealing $460 from a register at Shaw’s Supermarket in Mansfield has surrendered to police.

The Sun Chronicle reported that 40-year-old Scott Emanuel confessed he stole the money July 29.  The Dedham resident was identified through surveillance photos.

Emanuel also implicated himself in similar crimes at Shaw’s stores in Hyde Park, Sharon and Canton.

Emanuel was charged with breaking and entering into a depository and larceny of more than $250 by false pretenses. He’s due back in court in October.
