Remains found in West Greenwich

WEST GREENWICH, R.I. - Rhode Island State Police say human remains were found by hikers in an isolated area off Weaver Hill Road on Saturday.

The state’s medical examiner called to the scene, along with the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management.

A canoe was seen being taken from the crime scene.

It’s unclear if the remains were male or female, or if there was more than one victim.
