National Grid launches refrigerator buy back program
Refrigerator Buy Back
National Grid may offer you money to turn in your old refrigerator.Published: June 4, 2009

National Grid has launched a new program, encouraging homeowners to get rid of energy-draining, “second” freezers or refrigerators.
The new “Turn in and Recycling” program allows people to hand over old or inefficient refrigerators and freezers.
Experts said keeping an extra appliance in your basement or freezer may be convenient, but it uses up a fair amount of energy every day.
If you participate in the program, a crew will come to your house and pick up the appliance.

LOL
Only $30.00 and you give them your working appliance because its not energy star rated? That is so stupid. Why not give a $100 credit toward the purchase of a new energy star rated fridge? or here’s a nice suggestion, maybe they could just start only selling energy star rated appliances for reasonable prices. When we bought our energy star rated fridge freezer 1 1/2 ago we paid $600 for the 2nd cheapest model in Black, we couldn’t afford the stainless steel one we wanted because they were starting at $1000 that is a bit too much in my opinion. We really could have used a nice $100 rebate. This would boost the economy too.
Oh save it, Natl Grid!
all this PR and billboards etc, it is such BS.
Every 6 months is a 20% increase in rates!
Someone please tell Gov Carcieri to do something about this monopoly or get this stooge out.
RI is:
-worst roads
-close to worst umemployment in US
-worst rate of sex offenders
-highest rate of drug users according to turnto10 article http://www.turnto10.com/jar/news/local/article/ri_leads_in_drug_use/14195/#comments
How can anyone stay here?
And this nonUS company has the audacity to raise the electric rates and tell us we can bring in our old fridge for 30 bucks to keep the environment green
...oh yeah, thanks for the airport expansion, youll have more room in 5 years in this ghost town
How nice of them. I’d rather leave it on the street and let a junk collector pick up so they can scrap it. They are going to give you $30 oh wow that will pay the rate hike for what maybe a month or two.
Trust National Grid to come in your House ?
No way too many Rate increases proves to me they are just out for your Money i would not let them in my house for anything.
Just not worth the risk, the next thing you know they would be telling you you need this or that and of course it would cost you more money !
