NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I.— A Rhode Island native is flying the Air Force’s premier fighter plane at this weekend’s air show in North Kingstown.

The fighter jet, which has stealth technology, came to Rhode Island from Langley Air Force Base in Virginia. The F-22 can fly at supersonic speeds without using afterburners, allowing it to reach and stay in a battlespace faster and longer without being easily detected.
The National Guard Association of Rhode Island is sponsoring the annual air show on Saturday and Sunday.
Other performers include the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels, the F-16 Fighting Falcon and the Canadian Snowbirds.
