Police: Man registers .578 blood-alcohol level

Police said a Little Compton man registered a blood-alcohol level of .578.

Jonathan Holmes was arrested Tuesday at his home on West Main Road.

Police said they received a call from Holmes’ mother, who told them that he drove off in a car without the owner’s consent. 

When police arrived at the house, they arrested Holmes and took him for treatment at Newport Hospital.

Police said Holmes was slumped over and unconscious in the back of the cruiser.

Homes appeared in court Wednesday on a charge of domestic driving without the owner’s consent.
