MBS1 no it didn’t happen this time, but what about next time a cop decides to chance some young kid for being stupid.
What difference would it make if we paid for another 1 in the ACI. Look at the ex cop getting almost $3500 a month pension while he is in jail for life. We are paying double for him.

Tiredofri, enough about the what if’s, it did not happen so get over it.  I agree with thulsa, if this guy was caught we would eventually end up paying for his 3 meals a day at the ACI.

I’m not saying it doesn’t or won’t happen.  It’s not always the police’s fault if a high-speed driver plows into innocent people.  It even happens before the police have a chance to pursue someone.

1st off Divah2 I didn’t call you or WPRI a liar please don’t put words in my mouth. 2nd I am not complaining I am stating my belief. High speed chases can kill. You can replace a hunk of metal/plastic. You can not replace a human life. Please don’t say it doesn’t / can’t happen- it can & does.

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. (WPRI) - Middletown police released more details Monday about a deadly crash that happened early Sunday morning in Portsmouth.

Officers say a man fleeing from Middletown police crashed into another car on East Main Road. The suspect, 38, who officers have not identified, was thrown from his car and killed.

The Middletown officer who tried to pull over the suspect for speeding and ended up chasing him said, in the police report released Monday, the suspect’s car was travelling around 100 mph or more. The officer said his patrol car was going about 85 mph at one point, but he later slowed down for his safety.

Moments later, the Middletown officer said his lieutenant called off the chase, and reported an accident on McCorrie Lane. The officer confirmed one of the cars involved was the car he was chasing.

The car rolled over several times, police said, and the suspect was thrown from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators later determined the car he was driving was stolen out of Newport.

The other driver involved in the crash was taken to Newport Hospital with minor injuries.

tiredofri, fine you want to call me a liar, call me a liar.  you want to call channel 12 liars, who have photographic proof (look at their website), call them liars.  you apparently aren’t happy unless you’re complaining about something.
