Bank of America is closing its branch in the town of Scituate.

The branch, located on Danielson Pike in North Scituate Village, is the only bank in the town.

After it closes in July, the closest branch to customers will be in Johnston on Atwood Avenue or in Smithfield on Putnam Pike.

NBC 10’s R.J. Heim reports.

Well I live in Scituate and have been banking at Dexter Credit Union since it has opened its doors in Scituate and I enjoy banking there. The girls that are employed there are always so friendly and welcoming, they make you feel like part of a family. It is a better financial institution than Bank of America with all the fees that you have to pay!!! Fees to take money out of your own account!! Why are all you people worried about them closing, they are not friendly or accomadating at all. Dexter is the place to do your banking. NO FEES, FRIENDLY STAFF head on down and beat the rush…. 1 village plaza way see you there!!!

I may be mistaken, but Bank of America is not Scituate’s only bank.  Dexter Credit Union is located at 1 Village Plaza Way, N. Scituate, just down the street from BOA.  I am proud to live in Scituate and hope someday the the media will report correct information about the town I love.

Good.  Never liked that bank anyway.  Hope Citizens moves in.
