BOSTON - A group of Latino journalists in Massachusetts has launched a new Spanish-language weekly newspaper.
El Tiempo de Boston, or The Boston Times, began publishing the free paper last week and enters a crowded Spanish-language market where newspapers in genernal are experiencing a drop in circulation and advertising.
Maximo Torres, director of the 20,000-circulation paper, said he wanted to give the area’s growing Latino population another option among the eight or so papers already publishing.
Alberto Vasallo, publisher of the Boston-based El Mundo, said his paper has seen a 15 percent drop in advertising since last year.
U.S. Census estimates show that New England is home to close to 1 million Latinos, including about 560,000 in Massachusetts.

It’s time for a revolution in this country. No more freebees, food stamps, housing, etc. Learn our customs and learn to speak English on your own dime, just as past immigrants did!! Blame the liberals for giving away the store, all on the taxpayers backs!!
Agreed! It’s time we took this country back from the foreigners!
Take away another reason to learn English! Maybe they’ll advertise free ESL classes that the taxpayers are paying for!
Dennis Leary for President!!!
That’s right JoePjack1—-Press 1 for English ...... Enough already!! We speak English in America, please learn it!!!!
I am glad they have their own paper. Now I am suggesting they get their own ATM machines too! I should not have to tell the machine ENGLISH every time I use it!
