New I-95 lanes not a problem for commuters
DOT Readies for Lane Shifts
The DOT is preparing for the lanes shifts on I-95 in the downtown Providence area.Published: September 30, 2009
PROVIDENCE—There were no major problems on Interstate 95 north Wednesday in Providence, as the new traffic pattern went into effect.
Some morning commuters appeared to get confused with the new changes.
The pattern was postponed twice this week because of weather.
It splits lanes just after the Point Street bridge overpass. Drivers getting off at Broadway or Exit 21 need to stay in the right-hand lane.
