CRANSTON, R.I.—Several members of NBC 10 were voted Rhode Island’s best at a Rhode Island Monthly magazine event on Thursday.
Results of the magazine’s annual Best of Rhode Island readership poll were announced at the Providence Performing Arts Center.
NBC 10’s Patrice Wood was named best anchorwoman; Gene Valicenti was named best anchorman, Frank Coletta took home best television morning news anchor, Frank Carpano was named best sportscaster, and Mario Hilario was named best television news reporter.
NBC 10 received more Best of Rhode Island television awards than all other local television stations combined.
“We appreciate that Southern New Englanders turn to 10 more than any other TV station and Web site in the market and we work hard to earn their trust,“ said NBC10 General Manager Lisa Churchville. “It’s a great honor to have our anchors and reporters recognized as the Best in Rhode Island and a great tribute to the individuals as well as to our hard-working staff who work tirelessly to make NBC 10 and turnto10.com The Team You Trust.“

Sorry, but my all-time favorite newscaster was Doug White. He just seemed like someone you would want to hang out with. No phoniness with him. Rest in peace, Doug. I can’t believe it will be 4 years next month that he is gone.
FRANK COLETTA-Never could be “betta”
PATRICE WOOD-Always knew you could.
FRANK CARPANO-The sports are numeral uno.
MARIO HILARIO-Never leaves us in limbo.
GENE VALICENTI-Top of his game nightly.
Way to go Frank Coletta. Love both you and Kelly. My morning coffee and NBC 10.
The only way to start the day.
Probably would have gotten best weather personality had it not been for the blood-letting that occurred earlier this year…
Now, that’s what I’m talking about! Go Channel 10…you guys are the best!
