Bridge demolition to close I-95 in Providence

PROVIDENCE—Bridge demolition work and construction will shut down traffic on Interstate 95 in Providence in the next few days.

The state Department of Transportation said construction will close the left lane on I-95 south on Saturday between Atwells Avenue and Eddy Street from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Bridge demolition work will result in lane closings on I-95 north between Thurbers Avenue and Broadway on Sunday and Monday at 8 p.m. Full shutdowns are possible after 11 p.m. The highway will reopen by 5 a.m.

Providence is jealous of Boston.  So Providence has to tear up itself just as Boston did for the money pit known as the Big Dig.
