BARNSTABLE, Mass.—A 37-year-old Quincy man has died after his personal watercraft crashed into a small boat on Cape Cod.

Officials say Michael C. Stamos died on Thursday at a Boston hospital hours after the Honda Aqua Trax he was operating collided with a 17-foot Hydra Skiff on North Bay.

The Patriot Ledger reports that an off-duty firefighter boating nearby pulled Stamos from the water and onto to his own boat and gave first aid. He was taken to a nearby dock where an ambulance took him to Cape Cod Hospital.

He was later flown to Boston.

Barnstable and Massachusetts Environmental Police are investigating the cause of the crash. Barnstable police say no citations have been issued.
