Man sought in Fairhaven kidnapping

Police in Fairhaven are looking for a man accused of kidnapping a woman in the parking lot of a Stop & Shop supermarket on Huttleston Avenue.

Police identified the suspect as Eugene Fernandes, 45, of Wareham, by reviewing security video.

Investigators said Fernandes followed the 43-year-old woman to her car, jumped into the passenger’s seat, and forced her to drive him to places in New Bedford on Oct. 15.

She was able to escape and call for help.

Investigators said Fernandes has a long criminal history at that he should be considered dangerous.

Fairhaven police asked anyone with information the man’s whereabouts to call detectives at 508-997-7421.

The articles says that investigators say he should be considered dangerous.  Well, perhaps a photo of him would help.
