BROCKTON, Mass. - Police say a Washington state man angry that a Massachusetts judge refused to let his children visit him has been literally caught red-handed spray painting the courthouse.
Andrew Steele of Tacoma, Wash., was arrested at about 2 a.m. Thursday after a passer-by told police he saw someone spray painting all over Brockton District Court.
Responding officers found the 45-year-old Steele hiding behind a column, holding a spray can, with red paint on his hands.
Authorities say Steele wrote “Steele Boys Rights Denide (sic)“ in two-foot high letters multiple times.
He was ordered held on $50,000 bail at his arraignment later Thursday on charges of tagging, destruction over $250, and malicious damage. The damage was estimated at $2,800.

rna7476, you’re right. He didn’t help his case at all, but I think he’s given up on ever getting fairness from any judge in this court. But there are serious flaws in the system that maybe he can help affect and change and effect a change. This is a scandal what goes on on a judge’s whim.
Protestor: Andrew Steele
Location: Family Law Court House
Purpose of Protest:
My sons’ rights have been and continue to be denied them.
My rights have been and continue to be denied me.
My children’s mother’s life has been made very difficult.
Some family members have been and continue to be harmed. (Judge Sabatis said, “Divorce is hard on everyone.”) (This divorce, a three-plus-year divorce war, is not yet done.)
Fact:
Children need to feel special in Mom’s life and Dad’s. When they have this they do alright. When they are denied this they are at greater risk of having troubles.
Details:
The Children (Robert, William, Mathew and Kristopher):
They have been and continue to be denied their father—unimpeded and substantially—in their lives. (After being asked when the children would be allowed to see their father, Judge Sabatis once said, “I don’t have a crystal ball so I’m not going to be able to tell what the future will look like.” To which the father replied, “A Guardian ad Litem could be your crystal ball.”)
They were denied by Judge Sabatis a Guardian ad Litem (requested by the father on two different occasions).
They have been told things that are untrue and cruel.
Due to Massachusetts’ destruction of the father’s careers, the boys have been denied financial support from him.
Father:
I have been and continue to be denied the right to regroup and continue life with my sons, unimpeded, substantially, and in a healthy environment.
Due to the denial by Judge Sabatis of a Guardian ad Litem early on, a calm and collected environment to thoroughly explain the intentions behind decisions I made was denied me (Judge Sabatis once said, “I don’t have time to listen to this, I have lots of other people waiting to see me”).
Over 20 years of my custom building career may very well have been ruined (4 avenues within this one career); and three other career paths have been barred, destroyed, and or stalled, including writing (I published a novel titled The Galaxy Boys and the Sphere), a job with Outward Bound, and furthering skills and project ideas in photography.
Mother:
Life being centered on her love for her sons, she may the rest of her life be subjected to harm because of problems the boys may experience due to damage to their psyches.
Due to the State of Massachusetts’ destruction of the father’s careers, she has been partly and in many cases completely denied financial support from the father.
Suppositions and Conclusions:
Without resolution our sons may be permanently harmed.
Without resolution our sons will have lost that part of their childhoods, so important, that include memories of their father, and feeling special in their father’s life.
My four career paths have been destroyed or seriously stalled, to a point that, taking into account my age (46 on Dec. 13, 2009) and certain, manageable, long-term injuries, some careers (my building career) may not be recoverable.
Basic Requirements for Solution:
My sons need to be allowed to have me, unimpeded and substantially, in their lives (after Christmas 2009 my sons and I will have endured 4 years of being kept apart during Christmas, to name just one example).
The State of Massachusetts needs to provide me with a job, paid in accordance with Judge Sabatis’ support order ($550.00+ per week, which was based on my income several years prior to my sons’ mother’s filing for divorce), which was continuously upheld by the judge against all evidence, current deteriorating national economic conditions, and my repeated requests for reduction to match my real income.
What I can do for Massachusetts is: Design a system to eliminate the possibility that tragedies like this—The Divorce War—that has brought us to this protest can be avoided for the “lots of other people waiting to see me” (as stated by Judge Sabatis)—the spouses who will seek to end their marriages, the spouses who will have to absorb that change, and especially the children who all too often become collateral damage in the current “headless system.”
I’m guessing a whole lotta drinking was going on just prior
I can understand being upset that his kids aren’t allowed to visit him. But vandalizing the court isn’t helping his situation at all; he made things a lot worse for himself.
Now talk about a stupid criminal!!!
This one is right up there. The moron
