NORTON, Mass.—A Norton man is facing charges after police said they found a suspected homemade bomb in his car.
Police said 37-year-old Jason Driscoll was pulled over just before 7 p.m. Monday after receiving information that he may have explosives in his car. Police evacuated four nearby homes and closed a street to traffic.
Lt. Todd Jackson told the Sun Chronicle of Attleboro that police searched the car and came across a suspicious device inside a plastic bag. Jackson described it as a cardboard tube with wires coming out of it.
Driscoll was arrested for being in possession of a suspected explosive device. Jackson said the man told police that he didn’t plan to harm anyone.
