PROVIDENCE—A grand jury decided Friday not to indict a former Lincoln Planning Board member who was accused of hiring two men to attack a town council member in 2001.

Robert Picerno was previously convicted and sentenced to eight years in prison for soliciting and taking bribes as a member of the Lincoln Planning Board.

The jury said there was not enough evidence to send the case to trial.
