An animal welfare group has donated a 30-foot trailer to an Attleboro animal shelter to house dozens of cats that were removed from a home.
More than 40 cats have been staying with a volunteer at a farm in Norton because the Friends of the Attleboro Animal Shelter had no where to put them.
The shelter said all of the cats have been vaccinated and that some have been spayed and neutered.
The cats will be returned to Attleboro and housed in the trailer until permanent homes can be found.
The owner of the cats said he was forced out of his house by foreclosure and that he could no longer take care of the cats.

International Fund For Animal Welfare (IFAW) donated the use of their 30’ Emergency rescue trailer.
Ann-marie…the problem with donating a trailer to the “homeless” is they will never leave and I’d end up trailerless…! So it’s not a win-win situation, these cats will end up being adoted anyway!!
Here’s an idea…how about this for a change…why don’t YOU “adopt” one, two, or three ‘homeless” folks…see what kind of runamuck mess they make of your home!!
It is more than likely that he donated the use of the trailer—not the trailer itself. Don’t you know that those explanatory words seldom find their way to this news site?
The people in those camps don’t WANT any help. Don’t feel bad for them. Feel bad for the cats.
lol a shelter for people. ya right. people suck
Go UNC
Wait they lost ![]()
Hurray for the kitties though
The helpless cats and kittens are just that, helpless. They are in that situation because their owner (a) lost his job, (b) then lost his wife, and (c) has lost his home. Isn’t he too homeless? Many of the homeless in the news lately, a la Camp Runnamuck, have refused help! Whoever donated the travel trailer is to be commended.
Isn’t this a wonderful thing? Donate a shelter to house animals and forget about the people living in tents. How about a shelter for the people?
