Fire damages Portsmouth home
PORTSMOUTH, R.I.—A fire gutted a Portsmouth home early Sunday morning.
Fire officials told NBC 10 the first calls for the fire on 56 Douglas Ave. came in just before 2:30 a.m.
One firefighter was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. He was released.
Crews found the single-family home fully involved when they arrived.
Fire officials said the house suffered extensive damage and is uninhabitable.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
