Fire damages 200-year-old home in Warwick

(WARWICK, R.I.— Fire heavily damaged a 200-year-old home in Warwick on Sunday night.

Firefighters were called out to at 296 Warwick Neck Ave. at 8:50 p.m.

Inital reports say the fire was in a wall partition. The fire was considered under control about 20 minutes later.

No injuries were reported, but damage to the home was considered extensive.

Two tenants, a man and his daughter, were displaced. The Rhode Island Red Cross is assisting the tenants.

Investigators think the fire may have been sparked by the fireplace in the home.

First off I am very glad to hear that no injurys were reported… I’m very sad to hear what happend to this house… I grew up in this house for 13years.. It held so many memories..
