SWANSEA, Mass.—A two-hour overnight standoff in Swansea was a family affair, landing a 56-year-old man and his two children in court.

Police said they got a call late Tuesday night about a person possibly locked in the trunk of a car.

When officers showed up at the house on Old Providence Road, they said they were confronted by Mario Andreozzi, who was wielding a shotgun.

Police tasered Andreozzi and took him into custody. But they said his son, Anthony Andreozzi, grabbed the shotgun and ran into the house, starting a standoff.

After two hours, police convinced the younger Andreozzi and his sister to come out of the house.

The Herald News reported that police found a number of guns in the house, as well as a 2-year-old child asleep in a crib.

According to The Herald News, police said Anthony Andreozzi and his sister, Gina Andreozzi, went to Bristol on Tuesday night, picked up a man where he worked and wouldn’t let him leave the car.

Police said the siblings tried to break into the man’s apartment. Police got a call from a neighbor of the Andreozzis reporting that someone was being held in a car.

Police told the newspaper that when officers showed up, the man was being chased by Mario Andreozzi, who had the shotgun and was shouting racial slurs at the man.  Police did not identify the man.

All three Andreozzis face slew of charges.

Mario Andreozzi, 56, was charged with assault and battery on a police officer, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, resisting arrest, and a civil rights violation.

Anthony Andreozzi, 19, also faces assault and resisting charges, along with kidnapping, armed robbery, and assault and battery to collect a loan.

Gina Andreozzi, 21, was charged with the robbery, kidnapping, assault to collect a loan, and breaking and entering.

The whole story sounds strange. I wonder what really happened?  And for those of you that do not like Italians, keep it to yourselves. Oh, and by the way, the Andreozzi family is a good family.
