LINCOLN, R.I.—A former high-ranking executive at the Twin River slot parlor has been arrested and charged with stealing at least $45,000 by using fraudulent reward points.
The Providence Journal reports that 47-year-old Rayfell Parker, the Lincoln slot parlor’s former director of database management, was arrested Monday.
State police say he entered no plea before a justice of the peace and was released on $25,000 bail.
Gerald Aubin, the state Lottery director, says Parker carried out the alleged scheme by making use of the free rewards program that Twin River created to boost business.
Aubin says Parker and an accomplice set up 536 bogus free-play accounts, all under different names, and then used the rewards from those accounts to place bets.
