MERIDEN, Conn.—A Connecticut woman is recovering Sunday after the car she was driving was crushed by a falling tree.

Police say the unidentified woman from the town of Kensington, Conn. suffered serious injuries in the accident and was taken to a Hartford hospital.

Rescuers initially tried to use a helicopter to transport the victim, but had to cancel because of the high winds.

Police are now trying to determine who owned the tree and if there is any negligence.

Are they seriously trying to blame someone who may or may not have owned this tree?  It says there were high winds.  Give me a break..ha!
