DOT pulling down old I-195 bridges

Drivers will find overnight lane restrictions and occasional closures of Interstate 95 north over the next two weeks.

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation is demolishing bridges on the old Interstate 195.

The DOT will put lane restrictions in place on I-95 beginning at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

On Wednesday and Thursday nights, I-95 north will be fully closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The DOT urged drivers to use Interstate 295 and Route 10 as alternate routes.

The work is weather-dependent.
