PROVIDENCE—Rhode Island transportation officials are temporarily closing a lane of Interstate 95 South.
The closure late Friday night into early Saturday morning comes as officials remove a split-lane traffic pattern from the southbound lanes in West Greenwich.
A southbound lane will also be closed overnight on Sunday to allow for the safe demolition of a portion of the old Weaver Hill Road bridge.
The work is part of a $4.4 million project that is expected to be completed in spring 2011.
