BARNSTABLE, Mass. - A dog that had been missing since a fire at the Cape Cod Animal Hospital earlier this week has been found.

The pug/beagle mix called Dutch was found at the Cape Cod Airfield in the Marstons Mills section of Barnstable on Thursday morning. The animal had been missing since Monday night’s fire when a veterinarian broke the kennel door with a cinder block to allow the animals to escape.

Barnstable’s animal control officer says Dutch appeared to be OK and was being evaluated by a vet.

Three cats and a dog died in the fire that the state Fire Marshal says was started by an electrical malfunction.
