At midnight Tuesday, NBC 10 switched off its analog signal, completing the transition to digital broadcasting.
If you have cable, satellite, or FiOS, you probably didn’t even notice a change. Same thing goes if your TV set is new and has a digital tuner.
But if you have an older set with an analog tuner, it won’t be able to see the new signal. So, you need a converter box.
Many people have found that old rabbit ears can’t pick up the digital signals. Powered UHF-VHF antennas inside or rooftop antennas work the best.
As for the converter box, one trick that’s working for many viewers is to set the television to Channel 3 and use the remote to change channels on the converter box itself.
