Cranston bridge to be closed for repairs

CRANSTON, R.I.—A bridge in Cranston will be shut down for repairs.

State Department of Transportation officials said the culverts under the bridge on Pippin Orchard Road are failing.

About 4,000 drivers use the bridge everyday.  A detour will be posted while the bridge is closed.

The DOT said repairs will take about five weeks to complete.
