Strip Club Jobs
Tough economic times are leading more people to apply at strip clubs for jobs.
Just last weekend we told you about the hundreds of people who showed up at the Foxy Lady in Providence, because they’re hiring a few dozen people.
Now NBC News reports, strip club owners across the country are seeing an increase in applicants from all walks of life.
At some clubs, topless dancers can make as much as $500 a night. And some say they’d rather work at a club, than not work at all. It’s not just women applying to strip clubs, either, high numbers of men are applying to be bartenders and bouncers, too.
Candy
While many Americans are cutting back on spending some are choosing not to deny their sweet tooth.
Candy makers, candy store owners, and industry analysts all agree that sales are up in recent months. Some speculate sugary treats help boost people’s moods and others say maybe the sweet stuff reminds Americans of better times.
Recall
And there’s a recall to tell you about.
Fisher-Price is recalling some of its high chairs.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission reports the “3-in-1 high chair to booster” can fall backwards from the frame if the booster seat release is unlatched while the child is still seated.
The high chairs were sold at Target stores from December 2008 through this month, for about $100.
Consumers should contact Fisher-Price for instructions and a free repair kit.
Yankee Stadium
The city of New York gets the money and the team gets all the stuff from the old Yankee Stadium.
The Yankees have agreed to pay the city $10 million to become the become the rightful owners of seats, ticket booths, and other club collectibles from the old stadium.
If the tentative agreement is finalized, the franchise plans to sell these items on its own, in addition to the other memorabilia it already owns.
