PROVIDENCE—A student at Johnson and Wales University in Providence has become the fourth person in Rhode Island to develop a suspected case of swine flu.

The state Department of Health said Friday that the student, a female, developed flu symptoms after traveling to New York City. A sample from the student will be sent to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for testing.

The student, who lives off campus, is being treated with antiviral medications.

Health officials said they are monitoring the student’s roommate who is also sick, but does not yet have a suspected case of swine flu. The roommate is also being treated with medications.

Until now the state cannot confirmed if it is really Swine Flu for those in North Kingstown student and day care center people.  Why it takes too long to confirmed.  Are those State officials just overreacting and go with the flow of having a Swine Flu in the state of RI? Please give us the real score and don’t add more worries to us the people, especially now we are in time of recession.
