Coast Guard station gets new commander

NARRAGANSETT, R.I.—A new commanding officer has been named for Coast Guard Station Point Judith.

Senior Chief Petty Officer Eric Baruzzi will assume responsibility as officer in charge of Station Point Judith and Station Block Island from Master Chief Petty Officer Chad Curth in a ceremony Friday.

Curth, Station Point Judith’s officer in charge for the past two years, will transfer to a new position as officer in charge of the Coast Guard Cutter Hawk in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Baruzzi was previously the officer in charge of Coast Guard Station Boston.

Cmdr. John Kondratowicz, deputy commander of Coast Guard Sector South Eastern New England, is scheduled to be the keynote speaker.
