Officials in Fall River are trying to turn around the city's dismal jobless rate.FALL RIVER, Mass.—Fall River’s jobless rate for December hit a 13-year high.
At 12.7 percent, the city has the second-worst jobless rate in Massachusetts, behind Lawrence. More than 5,600 people in Fall River are out of work.
New Bedford had the third-worst unemployment rate in the state, at 11.8 percent.
